Chloe Hamilton

BA (Hons) Fine Art | Class of 2020

Throughout my time at University and previously, I primarily focused my art practice on Surrealism, so in my final year I decided to push myself out of my comfort zone and produce artwork that is a mixture of Cubism, Surrealism and perhaps a slight touch of abstraction, while still maintaining my love of portraiture.

I continued the practice of painting whether it be with oils or acrylics, as painting has always been a passion of mine as it allows me to be freer and messier with my artwork. I also use colour theory to help create contrasts to make aspects of my work stand out. A lot of my work is inspired heavily by Pablo Picasso for his Cubism and distorted faces as well as Wassily Kandinsky for his use of colour theory.
