Faith Henderson

BA (Hons) Artist Designer Maker: Glass and Ceramics | Class of 2021

Faith’s ceramic sculptures are experiments with form, texture, shape and colour. Many of the assemblages of her work involve mixed media but her chosen material for expression is ceramics due to its versatility and flexibility.  Her current collection ‘Observations of Belief’ explores various culture’s expression of their beliefs through objects. The work echoes a cabinet of curiosities and presents a set of seemingly miscellaneous objects in carefully curated sets to tell a story and make connections between different beliefs.  The various cultures of Norse, Celtic, Ancient Egyptian and medieval have been explored. All these cultures had different ways of living lives and made diverse manifestations of their beliefs in objects, but, what links all of them is a base connection in their devotion to, and appreciation of, nature.
