Impractically Practical

To begin with, I was inspired by my Localism project research on sculptural fashion and my final design of a structured and tailored blazer. For this more recent project, I researched the construction of garments and different types of silhouettes driving me to gain a greater interest in avant-garde, androgynous and deconstructed fashion, which became the main topics I researched and focused on.

I went on to construct three different garments relating to the former topics: An altered blazer, a constructed garment using pillows and blankets and a deconstructed denim garment. These garments were styled and written about utilising supporting research that has been influential for designers and fashion today. I then created a digital magazine and platform to exhibit my constructed collection and the concept of Impractically Practical.
