BA (Hons) Artist Designer Maker: Glass and Ceramics | Class of 2020

I am a ceramic and digital artist. My recent work focusses on using a 3D printer to print clay sculptures based on geometric forms and architectural features. This work merges new technology with a combination of both traditional hand building and firing methods. Through combining old and new the work exhibits how using technology to move forward does not mean tradition and hand skills are discarded. There is a place to embrace both in the modern world and these can be used together to break boundaries. The forms take inspiration from many different eras of architecture, stretching back to adobe huts that contrast against the geometric forms of modern buildings.
