Glass and Ceramics | Class of 2020
A love for the natural environment is a strong influence in my ceramic practice. I throw delicate vessels on a potter’s wheel; sometimes functional and always decorative. Once fired these vessels become a canvas, capturing a memory of place.
My latest collection of ceramics were fired in a saggar, buried with natural materials including seaweed collected from Roker Beach. Each piece is unique.
The glazed vessels also reflect a natural palette of colour, taking inspiration from my sketchbooks and photographs of horizons in The Lake District and The Hebrides.
