Simon Smith

BA (Hons) Graphic Design | Class of 2020

I would best describe myself as having a range of design skills that provide flexibility within a dynamic and exciting profession. Using various traditional and modern techniques helps me to strike a balance between aesthetics and functionality in my work.

My final project creates a grass roots campaign to raise awareness of plastic pollution and conservation, bringing local communities together. Initially based on ocean pollution, it progressed to focus on inland water parks and lakes; encouraging people to become involved in events such as clean-up days or fundraisers.

It is a downloadable (DLC) or physical pack which includes information, campaign and promotional material; and explores a 3D concept for a pavillion viewing area for use during event days. Known as “HAB,” the habitat campaign is designed to engage people in a connection with consideration and appreciation for their local area.
